Canada’s Vegan Answer To Spray Tanning
Winter is here and your tan lines have faded leaving most of us longing for a tan( if you have darker skin naturally I envy you!). Some of us have it naturally and some of us are on that fake it until you make it life. When I first went vegan it was a great concern of mine, how would I get a tan?. Although it’s first world problems I truly spent hours and hours searching online trying to find the answer. There are many brands who have at home / DIY versions of tan. They are good but nothing beats a proper spray tan.
I tried the salon style booths which left me looking like a cheetah.Just when I thought it wasn’t gonna happen I stumbled upon Tan On The Run. Tan on the run was created by Nicole Hyatt (girl boss yasss). She created a unique tanning company offers fully customizable mobile spray tans in your home. All of the tan formulas are vegan and use the best natural ingredients. At first, I was skeptical but Tanya ( my spray tanner) really made me feel super comfortable and was more like two friends talking than a total stranger. They set up a pop-up booth so it doesn’t get all over your house and she took great care to make sure my nails would get tanned etc.
Truly tanned goddess?
After the spray when I looked in the mirror I was shocked at how dark it was but she assured me that when it all washed off in about 8 hours it would be a medium tan. When I washed it off in the morning I was amazed to see how GREAT my tan looked. Tanya was totally right it was a beautiful light/medium tan and to my delight, it was even. If you have ever tanned before usually you have some patchy areas etc but not with this tan.
How does this magic work?
Tan on the run uses a formula with all natural ingredients. The organic tan formula uses beet sugar called dihydroxyacetone (DHA). The way it works is that the beet sugar reacts naturally with the melanin in your skin and the different colours have other natural ingredients depending on desired colour. The formulas also contain Anti- Aging ingredients such as aloe giving you a great smooth golden tan that will last about 7-10 days. All Formulas are UV free and ECOCERT certified organic. The best part is you can have the colour you desire without UVA and UVB damage to your skin.
Tan on the run also has an organic product line that helps you with your tan as well as a few vanity products. Some of my favorites include the tan extender cream in pink sugar. I typically apply this around 4-5 days after my tan. When your tan starts to fade and you add this it almost completely comes back because it reactivates the tan. The raw organic soap bar which is amazing, the 24 hour liquid bronzer and the shea butter cream is phenomenal.

Do i recommend it?
I totally recommend trying this whether it’s for a vacation, event, wedding or if you just want a tan I think you would love this. This has led to me getting tanned a lot because I just love how it looks. I tried this tan for months before I recommended it because I really wanted to make sure it was consistent. They also have just come out with a rapid tan formula that you can wash off after three hours for those of us that are on the go. I have also tried a lot of the oh so organics products and I like most of them a lot. If you guys want to see a review of the oh so organics products let me know.
Things to note:
Before you tan always exfoliate because dry patches can create patchy areas. Make sure your skin is clean ( free from lotions, deodorents etc). Don’t sleep on white sheets (like I did)until you have washed the tan off. Also when you shower, be prepared to rinse your tub after. Due to the fact it kind of looks like a crime scene but it does come right off. A full spray ( at home) will run you between $50-$70 and if you want to tan in the studio between $40-$50. If you want to see more of their work just check out The Bachelor Canada because those ladies where tanned by Tan On The Run.
I hope everyone is feeling good and thank you for stopping by.
